Career Guidance Policy and Practice in the Pandemic

Results of a joint International survey- June to August 2020

This report is based on a joint international survey, designed to provide a snapshot of how career guidance policies, systems and services were adapting and coping, following the declaration of the world Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020. The survey, launched on 8 June 2020 and closed on 3 August 2020, included an exploration of these policies, systems and practices (focusing on remote and ICT-based delivery) in the context of the early phase of government reactions to the pandemic. The pandemic and its social consequences triggered a debate on career guidance reform, and the role for career guidance in pandemic recovery measures. It also considered the support role of international and donor bodies.

HERE is the REPORT

The ECOLHE project is in progress (EAEC project)

ECOLHE- Empower Competences for Online Learning in HE, is a research project, which aims to create the best conditions for exchange of best practices in:

  • teaching digital skills in HE
  • developing a training course for teachers and tutors for improving online teaching in HE
  • recognizing and validating the teaching competences in HE for teachers‘ professional development
  • providing guidelines and recommendations for Academic Bodies

The ECOLHE partners designed and developed an online environment for online teachers in HE, to update emerging digital competences for online and blended learning, with the aim of increasing their ability in the use of digital technologies through online collaboration environments in HE.

This training initiative has been piloted in all European university partners of the ECOLHE project and involved 126 teachers, researchers, PhD students, tutors and academic staff who deal in various ways with the enhancement of digital technologies in HE.

On the next 6th of July, the Open University of Catalonia hosted the second ECOLHE Multiplier Event.

The event focused on showing to experts in online teaching the training model adopted in the pilot course “Engaging higher education students with collaborative e-activities” designed and tested in the framework of the ECOLHE project.

ONLIFE-Empower hybrid competences for on life adaptable teaching in school education in times of pandemic (EACG project)

The ONLIFE project aims to empower teachers and school leaders to face the digital transformation of the education system during Covid 19 pandemic.

The consortium is currently working towards the implementation of the second result, which is the creation of an online learning environment intended to empower teachers’ hybrid competences.

Invitation

Based on the implementation of the second result, teachers and educational leaders are invited to participate in a pilot of the Moodle Learning Environment platform, which will be executed in two phases:

In the first phase (Action 1), they are expected to contribute with their observations and recommendations about the functionality and navigation of the platform in order to facilitate the development of its final form.

In the second phase (Action 2), they will be required to answer a few short questions giving initial feedback on the functionality of the platform.

In addition, the participants are invited to read the description of each of the eight modules  and select up to 3 modules of their interest (Action 3) and then evaluate the 3 selected modules at a later stage, in September 2022, (Action 4).

In a second evaluation, the participants will be asked to evaluate the content of only one module of their choice.

Are you interested to contribute in the pilot evaluation process?

If you are a Teacher or an Education leader, please help the project consortium with the piloting evaluation:
